WRG has a new look and feel following a successful upgrade on August 17th, 2018. Users may now access Proposal Development and Proposal Tracking to experience the new modules. This upgrade included changes in our user interface to make WRG sleeker and more intuitive to use.

Women's Evol Roma Boot Rain Navy FY 2018 NRSA Stipend, Tuition/Fees & Other Budgetary Levels
NIH has released notice NOT-OD-18-175 announcing the fiscal year 2018 NRSA stipend levels for undergraduate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral trainees and fellows. Additionally, the Training Related Expenses and Institutional Allowance for postdoctoral trainees and fellows has increased to $9,850. The Training Related Expenses and Institutional Allowance for pre-doctoral trainees and fellows and the Tuition and Fees for all educational levels remain unchanged.
The new levels only apply to NRSA awards made with the FY 2018 funds. All FY 2018 awards previously issued using NOT-OD-17-084 and NOT-OD-17-003 will be revised to adjust funding to the new FY 2018 levels. Appointments to institutional training grants already awarded in FY 2018 must be amended to reflect the FY 2018 stipend levels once the training grant award has been adjusted by NIH. Amended appointments must be submitted through xTRAIN in the eRA commons. Retroactive adjustments or supplementation of stipends or other budgetary categories with Kirschstein-NRSA funds for an award made prior to October 1, 2017 are not permitted.

Proposal Tracking (PT) is now available for departmental users in the Weill Research Gateway. PT serves as the data repository for all grant and contract submissions through the Sponsored Programs module. Effective immediately, departmental users may access critical data elements for all records, including:
• The initial Proposal Development submission
• Record status and history
• Agreement negotiation tracking
• Protocol approval information
• Personnel and budget information

NIH has announced that there will be changes to its grant application forms and application guide instructions for all proposals with due dates on or after January 25, 2018. The new “FORMS-E” package will include the consolidation of human subjects, inclusion enrollment and clinical trial information, the expansion and use of discrete form fields to collect additional clinical trial information, and the incorporation of recent Grants.gov changes to the R&R Budget and SBIR/STTR Information forms.

Rain Boot Evol Women's Navy Roma NIH will publish new funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) with FORMS-E application packages on October 25, 2017. If the FOA was published before this date, it will be posted without application forms. The application forms will be added to these FOAs by November 10, 2017.
On or after January 25, 2018, all WRG-SP proposals that are created should use the new FORMS-E application package for all application types (New, Resubmission, Renewal and Revision). Even if the application is forwarded to OSRA early, if the NIH deadline is on or after January 25, 2018, the FORMS-E package must be used.

As per notice NOT-OD-17-094, NIH K awardees may now commit effort to and receive salary from other federal grants outside of the K award.
Supplementation of salary to cover committed effort on K awards can come from non-Federal and internal sources only, and cannot interfere with activities on the K award nor require additional responsibilities.
For the remaining 23% effort left to commit elsewhere, the K awardee may now commit effort to and receive compensation from both Federal and Non-Federal sources, as long the specific aims of the other supporting grant(s) differ from those of the K award.
Roma Navy Boot Evol Rain Women's The Office of Research Business Operations (RBO) launched in fall 2017, establishing a parallel leadership structure over the Office of Sponsored Research Administration (OSRA) and the Office of Research Business Management (RBM), led by Director, Aleta R. Gunsul, and Associate Director, Stephen Hunt. Since its inception, this new Department has maximized operational efficiencies across teams, while maintaining unique objectives and services. OSRA continues to provide central support services across WCM, while RBM provides targeted, end-to-end research portfolio management for our Centers, Institutes, and other researchers.

Felicia Sosa – Assistant Director (OSRA)
Felicia Sosa, an integral member of the Office of Sponsored Research Administration since 2010, and Manager - Grants and Contracts, of our over $200 million dollar a year portfolio, for the past three years, is taking on the newly introduced position of Assistant Director. In her new leadership role, Felicia will directly oversee OSRA’s three core teams: Grants, Contracts and Operations, with an emphasis on managing team integration and cross training while maintaining a comprehensive project inventory and measuring key performance metrics. She will continue to serve as a lead advocate for the Weill Research Gateway (WRG), managing project enhancements and implementations. Felicia is recognized for her attention to detail, and her in-depth grant expertise, as well as providing excellent, above and beyond the call of duty, service to WCM’s research faculty. She will continue to foster a high-quality culture founded upon service and excellence.
Latoya Palmer – Manager, Grants and Contracts (OSRA)
Latoya Palmer will succeed Felicia, filling the position of Manager - Grants and Contracts in OSRA. Formerly, Latoya supported the research portfolio of our previous Dean, Dr. Laurie Glimcher. At CUMC, she was the Divisional Administrator for the David Mahoney Center in Neuroscience, providing administrative and financial management for a $20 million dollar research portfolio. She has over 15 years of experience in research administration, and a well-established history of developing excellent faculty relationships. Since September 2016, Latoya has supported a broad range of research portfolios as a Grants Portfolio Manager in Research Business Management (RBM). In her new role, Latoya will oversee our experienced Grant Specialist unit with a strong focus on fostering team cohesion and support, enhancing performance metrics and WRG advocacy, and providing consistent, high quality service to our research community.

New Hire: Women's Boot Rain Roma Evol Navy Syeda “Affreen” Jaffery, Senior Contracts Specialist
We are excited to announce that Syeda “Affreen” Jaffery will be joining OSRA as a Senior Contracts Specialist in early April. Affren joins OSRA following her time as a Senior Legal Associate at Pacira Pharmaceuticals, Inc. She brings several years of experience negotiating industry-funded contracts. Her experience in contract negotiation includes analysis of federal and state regulations as well as oversight of 5,000 corporate contracts annually. Prior to her time at Pacira, Affren received her Paralegal Certificate from Pace University in New York.
Jazmin Kirby – Contracts Manager
We are excited to announce the promotion of Jazmin Kirby to Contracts Manager, Office of Sponsored Research Administration. In this role, Jazmin will advance the successful platform established by her predecessor with an emphasis on managing integrated teams for Subawards, Industry Contracts and WCM-Q research management. Jazmin will manage workload throughput via proactive relationship management with our peer institutions, clear identification of our comprehensive pending and active project inventory, and measuring key performance metrics such as agreement execution turnaround times.
Mohammad Mansour – Operations Manager
We are excited to announce the promotion of Mohammad Mansour to Operations Manager, Office of Sponsored Research Administration. In this new role, Mohammad will lead our data management team, oversee institutional reporting and support systems integration. The position will serve as our departmental advocate in the Weill Research Gateway-Sponsored Programs module and be responsible for the oversight of all operations, including award processing, account creation in SAP and annual compliance review. Of primary focus will be enhancing performance metrics, shortening response and turnaround times, and improving community satisfaction.

Upon notification of award acceptance, OSRA manages the research account creation process and post award administration.
